PGA Tour hit hard: “Still, partnership negotiations with Saudi A

? ?? ?? ??

Rahm (left), who suddenly moved to LIV Golf, and LIV Golf Commissioner Greg Norman.

Jon Lam"s (Spain) transfer to LIV Golf was a surprise to the PGA Tour.

This is because the PGA Tour lowered its guard against LIV Golf after deciding to partner with Saudi Arabia"s sovereign wealth fund (PIF), which effectively owns LIV Golf.

Since Rahm is a member of the PGA Tour"s "big three" along with Scotty Scheffler (USA) and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), the shock and blow of his transfer to LIV Golf is serious.

Moreover, Ram"s transfer is raising concerns about chain transfers.

Immediately there were rumors of Tony Finau (USA) transferring to LIV.

When reporters asked if Finau was moving to LIV Golf, Finau avoided giving a definitive answer, which seems to have further amplified the transfer rumors.

However, the PGA Tour, which tried to take a calm stance and said, "We cannot argue with the choices of individual players," announced on the 11th (Korean time), "The policy board unanimously selected an external investment group to conduct additional negotiations with the PIF." .

The Policy Board is the highest-level decision-making body on the PGA Tour, and 6 of the 12 members are players.

Tiger Woods (USA) is the central figure of the player committee.

This announcement from the policy board can be read as a sign that negotiations with PIF will proceed even with the loss of players from LIV Golf, such as Lam"s transfer and Finau"s additional transfer.

“We are confident that this will result in a positive outcome for both the players and the PGA Tour,” the policy board added in a memo to players.

Lydia Go and Jason Day

Lydia Ko and Day hit 6 under par 66 with 6 birdies and no bogeys in the final 3rd round of the tournament held at the Gold Course (par 72) of Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, USA on the 11th (Korean time).

The two players, who recorded a final total of 26 under par and 190 strokes, finished the tournament in first place by one stroke and shared the championship prize of $1 million (KRW 1.32 billion).

This tournament, held for the first time this year, was held with players from the PGA Tour and the LPGA Tour forming teams of men and women.A total of 16 teams participated.

The first round was played in a scramble format where each player took a shot and then picked a ball to hit the next shot, and the second round was played in a foursome format where each player took turns hitting one ball.

The third round was held in a modified four-ball format, with each player taking a tee shot and then playing with their partner"s ball from the second shot, with the team"s score being the better score.

Lydia Ko and Day, who started the first round in a tie for 4th place (14 under par, 58 strokes), reduced 6 strokes in the second round to rise to sole first place, and maintained their lead with a no-bogey streak on the last day.

Runners up were Brooke Henderson and Corey Connors (Canada) with 25 under par and 191 strokes, and third place was Ludwig Arbery and Madeleine Saxström (Sweden, 26 under par and 192 strokes).

Lydia Go, who did not win this year, alleviated some of her disappointment with the trophy from the event competition. Her best result in the 2023 season is 3rd place in the BMW Ladies Championship in October.

Lydia Go said, "I hope this will motivate the junior athletes watching the competition," and added, "It was a fun experience, and I hope this competition continues in the future."

Partner Day said, "I think it was the most stress-free win because I knew Lydia Go would come out last," and added, "I was able to end the year on a happy note through this competition."

This is the first mixed tournament in which PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players team up together, 24 years after the JC Penny

Classic, which was held until 1999.

Liverpool striker Luis Díaz reunited with father after kidnapping ordeal | Stuff.co.nz

English Premier League (EPL) Liverpool striker Luis Diaz (26-Colombia) had a tearful reunion with his father after he was released from kidnapping by gunmen.

The Colombian Football Association posted a video and photo of Diaz"s family reuniting with his father, Manuel Diaz, on its official channel on Friday (Aug. 15).

In the video, Diaz"s father hugs Diaz and the rest of the family before breaking down in tears. Díaz also wiped away tears as he hugged his father for a long time.

Díaz"s parents were kidnapped on March 28 after being threatened by gunmen in a barranca on the Venezuelan border. His mother was released more than an hour later, but his father never returned, causing great concern.

After missing two games due to family issues, Diaz came on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Luton Town on June 6.

He anxiously awaited his father"s return, scoring a dramatic goal in the second half and performing a goal celebration in which he displayed a t-shirt that read "Free my father".

Fortunately, his father was also released safely on April 10, 13 days after his abduction. Diaz"s father has since been reunited with his family, but his reunion with Diaz was delayed.

After his stint in Liverpool, Diaz, who is currently preparing for Colombia"s South American qualifier for the 2026 North and Central American World Cup against Brazil, finally met his father in Colombia for an emotional reunion.

Colombia will face Brazil in Barranquilla on Sunday in the fifth round of South American qualifying for the World Cup. Colombia is in fifth place with one win, three draws, and six points.

\Home run king\ Noh Si-hwan relies on his \one hit\ for the batl

8? ?? ?? ?????????? ?? ???????????(APBC) ???? ??? ? ????, 7?? ??? 4??? ???? ??? ?? ??. 2023.11.8 ??1

Noh Si-hwan, fourth baseman of the national team, hits a single in the bottom of the seventh inning during the first practice game of the Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC) between the national team and Sangmu at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu, South Korea, on Monday afternoon.

The KBO"s home run king for the 2023 season, Noh Shi-hwan (23, Korea), will take the field at the Tokyo Dome wearing a Korean flag this time.

Noh will play in the 2023 Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC) on Nov. 16 at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

Noh, who hit 31 home runs in the league this year and won the home run title five years after his debut, will wear the Korean flag again following the Hangzhou Asian Games.

After batting .438 (7-for-16) with a 1.140 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) at the Asian Games, Noh hopes to use the tournament to establish himself as a solid No. 4 hitter for the national team.

With coach Ryu Joong-il already expressing his faith in him by saying, "He"s the number four hitter," Noh is in top form.

?

Noh Si-hwan recently went 5-for-8 with a home run and four RBIs in two scrimmages against Sangsung in Korea, showing that he is ready to become the next big thing for the national team.

Now, he will fight for his country"s honor in his first visit to the Tokyo Dome.

I"m really looking forward to hitting my first home run for my country at the Tokyo Dome, especially since I haven"t gotten a taste of it yet after hitting so hard at the Asian Games.

The Tokyo Dome has a relatively short distance of 110 meters between the left and right fences, and the nature of the dome allows the ball to travel further.

Noh"s home run is also important for the team. With Lee Seung-yeop, Lee Dae-ho, and Park Byung-ho having left the national team, the team is lacking in big guns.

Noh Si-hwan celebrates after hitting a two-run home run with the bases loaded in the eighth inning during the baseball main event Group B match between South Korea and Chinese Taipei at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games at the Shaoxing Baseball Sports and Cultural Center near Hangzhou, China, on Oct. 2.

Kang Baek-ho (KT), who was the only one who could be counted on for a hit, was dropped from the final roster due to injury, and Moon Bo-kyung (LG) was replaced by the Korean Series schedule.

While there are players like Kim Hyung-joon and Kim Joo-won (NC) who can be expected to hit long balls, it is safe to say that Noh Si-hwan is the only player with a typical big bat. For this reason, the role of APBC"s Noh Si-hwan is important.

With Moon Bo-kyung out, Noh will also have to play a bigger role in defense. At the Asian Games, Noh was stable at third base and Moon at first base, but with Moon out, Noh could move to first base.

In practice, second-year player Kim Do-young (KIA) played third base. If this is the case in the game, Noh will need to take the lead in the infield by encouraging the defense. His role in the offense will increase.

This tournament may not be easy for Noh, as young professional players from each country will be playing. Japanese media have already labeled him as a target for South Korea, so he"s likely to face strong opposition.

In many ways, the pressure will be on him, but if he can fulfill his role and make a good impression, he can solidify his place as a mainstay in the national team.

3-0 win over Ross County extends unbeaten run to 12 games to open season

Celtic"s Oh Hyun-gyu

Celtic, led up front by Oh Hyun-gyu and Yang Hyun-joon, defeated Ross County (Scotland) to remain unbeaten in their opening 12 matches.

Celtic defeated Ross County 3-0 away in the 12th round of the 2023-2024 Scottish Teamed Professional Soccer Premiership at the Global Energy Stadium in Dingwall, Scotland, on Thursday (Sept. 4).

Oh Hyun-gyu started up front and Yang Hyun-joon started on the left flank, each playing the full 81 minutes.

It was the first time this season that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has used Oh in the starting lineup.

Yang repaid Rodgers" faith in him by sending off opposing defender James Brown just 10 minutes into the game.

Brown was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Yang as he tried to stop him on a breakaway from the left corner of the penalty area.

From this point on, Celtic, having secured their numerical advantage, attacked one-sidedly.

Oh rattled the net in the 31st minute when he stumbled over a cross from Maeda Daisen and slotted home.

It looked like the Hoops had found the back of the net for the second game in a row, following their 11th-round tie against St. Mirren the previous two days.

However, a video assistant referee (VAR) ruled that Maeda, who delivered the cross, was offside when he ran onto the penetrating pass.

After taking the lead in first-half stoppage time through David Turnbull"s mid-range strike, Celtic made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute when Luis Palma produced another spectacular right-footed curling effort from behind the penalty area.

In the 36th minute, James Forrest, who came on as a substitute for Yang Hyun-joon, scored a header within two minutes of taking the field to put the game out of reach.

With the win, Celtic, unbeaten in their opening 12 games (W10 D2 L32), consolidated their position at the top of the table. They also opened up an eight-point gap on rivals Rangers (8 W, 3 D, 24 P), who have played one game less. ??????
